A fabulous unexpected frame
To be clear: THIS PAINTING IS NOT FOR SALE. It was a previous commission that I did for a client. That client took the painting to Holton Framemakers.
I do think that Tim Holton's process is fascinating, and, since it was a frame made for a painting I did, it would be interesting to folks!
A client who had commissioned a particular piece had a custom carved frame made for it at Tim Holton's unparalleled San Francisco shop. I have not personally had Tim make a frame for me, but this is too fabulous not to share! He also talks a bit about the painting itself.
